Shirt Mania!

It's an exciting weekend here at Expiring Sun HQ. The first round of a series of shirts with my drawings arrived! And I've already sold over half of them, crazy!

Two different options are available, "The Gate" and "Perpetual Puke Machine." Printed in light grey on super soft Anvil® ring spun cotton tees! And printed with love by the masterful Sam McCanna at Skurvy Ink.

They are available at my store here: expiringsun.bigcartel.com

Manborg

Last night I wrapped up a poster for the new sci-fi action flick MANBORG directed by Steven Kostanski. I had a blast putting this together. Make sure and give the Manborg Facebook page a like and follow happenings with the movie on Twitter!

There's a few photos of the poster in progress below, along with the teaser trailer. I want to do more movie posters... hint hint ;)

Last Words

You see, my son, that this is the end
After this nothing else will begin
So take this for what it is worth
I never loved you
Or anything on earth

Logo Illustration for Oculus Infernus

I recently illustrated a logo for Professor D. Grover the XIIIth's new blog Oculus Infernus. From here on out, I think I should make it a point to only agree to design logos that are supposed to reek of evil. That's fair, right?

Hammers of Misfortune Shirt Illustration

Recently, John Cobbett of the mighty Hammers of Misfortune contacted me to do some artwork for a new shirt. After some heavy brainstorming based on the lyrics of the new album 17th Street and keeping up with John's Twitter posts regarding the Occupy Movement, I felt like I had a pretty good grasp about what the shirt should be. Here is the final illustration with a few close ups. The shirt should be available on HoM's upcoming tour as well, so be on the look out! And if you haven't heard 17th Street yet, you are seriously missing out. It is one of the most monumental albums I have heard in a very long time and is without a doubt one of the best, if not THE best album of 2011. Along with the artwork I'm also including the title track from their new album. Check it out!

The Fifth Fire

Recently, local Wichita, Kansas alternative rockers The Fifth Fire asked me to design them an album cover. After a nice discussion with their singer Mark Bryant about their music and how to portray it visually, we decided to run with the idea of a figure of significant power or royalty who, despite his social standing, is in a state of sadness. They currently don't have any of the recordings on their MySpace page, but hopefully they will soon. The cd comes out June 18th.
